The A&A Tactical Strichtarn East German Rain Helmet Cover V2E is the latest rendition to our rare/limited fabrics helmet cover line. Each cover is constructed of original, new dead stock, Cold War era Strichtarn camoflauge uniform fabric combined w/ new materials and production.
Some history on the pattern-
From 1965 to 1990, Strichtarn (Line Camoflauge- English translation) was the main camoflauge for East Germany's National People's Army which replaced the dated Flächentarn/Blumentarn pattern that was adopted in 1958. Strichtarn's appearance is designed with stuttered vertical red-brown lines on a grey-green field, which was also known as the raindrop pattern.
After applying this pattern into a modern setting, we feel that this pattern is completely deserving of a comeback and definitely relevant in the 21st century. We also have run the cuts on this fabric so every cover portrays the rain particles in a vertical manner, a subtle but functional/realistic design touch..
V2E covers feature an updated loop design with angled side flags, "W" style rear loop, added "eyebrow" loop, foliage attachment points, and shock cord retention mohawk. This specific release is only available in the colorway shown w/ Ranger Green Loop fields and Black Mesh.
